Shazfa began her career at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA), where she honed her skills over five years in various capacities. She worked as a Senior Tax Officer in both the Large Taxpayer Audit Section and International Tax Audit Section, gaining hands-on experience in auditing large taxpayers and addressing complex international tax issues. She later became Deputy Manager of the Large Taxpayer Audit Section, leading and monitoring the team in audits of domestic and international taxpayers. 

Her professional development includes specialized training in international taxation and transfer pricing, such as the Advanced Professional Certificate in International Taxation from the IBFD and the Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) program by the OECD.
